Turkman Valley or Dare-e Turkman (Persian: درهٔ ترکمن) also Dare-e Turkmun (Hazaragi: درهٔ تورکمن) is a residential area in Afghanistan, located in Surkhi Parsa District, Parwan Province in Hazarajat region, which is inhabited by the Hazaras.[1][2][3]
Demographics[edit]
The Turkman valley is populated by Hazaras, who speak the Hazaragi and Dari dialects of the Persian language.[4]
History[edit]
The Hazaras of Turkman valley is from the historical and original tribes of Hazaras, as Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire in the early 16th century, in Baburnama referred to these Hazaras several times as "Turkoman Hazaras".[3]
