See the discussion for details, but the upshot is that we will be losing the parentheticals from season titles that do not distinguish between, e.g., shows by the same name in different countries.

The new display will need to look like, e.g., "Chicago Fire season 10" for an otherwise unambiguous title, and "Hawaii Five-0 (2010 TV series) season 7" for titles containing actual ambiguities. BD2412 T 22:35, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've done some work on a sandbox version but I won't have time to continue as it's the weekend already. I'll continue with it next week. Gonnym (talk) 07:27, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Code updated at Template:Infobox television season/sandbox. Please check the sandbox with the new title styles to make sure I didn't miss anything. Gonnym (talk) 08:29, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gonnym: Time to bring live? Hyphenation Expert (talk) 06:12, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The bot hasn't completed its run. You can check the progress at User:Alex 21/sandbox/NCTV. Gonnym (talk) 07:34, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I have seen, the new change for article titles is working in most places. One place it isn't is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 1 which is italicising "season 1". I don't think it is to do with how that article is using the infobox because The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 is set up the same way and is working fine. - adamstom97 (talk) 10:48, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
{{Infobox album}} was causing this error. Gonnym (talk) 11:39, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch, thanks for that. - adamstom97 (talk) 12:44, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 24 March 2024[edit]

Remove "country" parameter per consensus at Template talk:Infobox television#Proposal to remove the "country" parameter. U-Mos (talk) 13:01, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done can you update the documentation? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:41, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac can your bot clear |country= from Category:Pages using infobox television season with unknown parameters? Gonnym (talk) 10:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Primefac (talk) 12:11, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, the plot description for all the Attack on Titan episodes have been removed. This occurred sometime during the latest edits at the end of March. Please can these be restored? DCD331 (talk) 16:58, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is related to a different change which is still in progress. - adamstom97 (talk) 17:47, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks DCD331 (talk) 19:23, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to join the discussion at Template talk:Infobox television § Alternatives to writer and director parameters. For a discussion on the possibility of adding a showrunner parameter to television-related infoboxes that would affect this infobox. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:52, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template Protected Edit Request[edit]

A showrunner parameter needs added to this Infobox per this discussion. Here's the sandbox diff where it was added and the testcase page where it worked. The sandbox just needs synced to the live template. TheDoctorWho (talk) 18:30, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Done * Pppery * it has begun... 15:19, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Documentation updated. TheDoctorWho (talk) 15:48, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additional edit[edit]

Per this dsicussion, showrunner needs to be pluralized if there are multiple on the series.

Changing label2 = Showrunner to label2 = Showrunner{{Pluralize from text|{{{showrunner|}}}|plural=s}} will take care of it automatically (minus the nowiki tags if looking at this in source editor).

Here's the sandbox edit and the corresponding testcase edit where it worked. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:39, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding other "producer" entries[edit]

Since the producer credits don't change in the course of its current season (most of whom are pay scaled writing staff), I was thinking what if we add a production section category on the bottom part of the template with entries for "executive producer", "co-executive producer", "supervising producer", "producer", and "co-producer"? 2600:1700:B331:50F0:C9F3:119E:1837:833 (talk) 19:15, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We don't need a bunch of extra entries on the infobox when they can be in prose format under the Production section on the body. This has been discussed in the past before over by Template talk:Infobox television/Archive 10#Proposal to add parameters for co-executive producer, supervising producer, and co-producer.YoungForever(talk) 22:00, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone who isn't an "executive producer" credit is not "prominent" enough to justify inclusion in the infobox, especially for a season one. And as noted, many of these credits are the writers so they are noted appropriately elsewhere in the article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:54, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
