Early life[edit]
Anthony Lees, who grew up in Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, received the nickname Spanian whilst serving time in juvenile detention as a teenager at Cobham Youth Justice Centre. He was originally known as "Spaniard" because his father is half-Spanish and then the nickname eventually got shortened into Spanian.[2]
