Ungainly criteria[edit]

This is an uneasy pairing of two different film genres: those set in prehistoric times and those in the lost world (genre). As the latter's article notes, it can encompass lost civilizations as well as cavemen/women and they are set in the modern world, so they are not the same. It seems better to split them and create a Category:Lost world films. Clarityfiend (talk) 09:09, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially a good idea, though the distinction may not be clear-cut in some cases. The Lost World concept has been used extensively in literature and in comics. I am not certain how prevalent it has been in film.Dimadick (talk) 22:42, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't foresee any difficulties, except for the subcategorization of Category:Dinosaur films. Plus there are actually a lot of lost world films. So, I'm going to go ahead and, no doubt, give myself a splitting headache. Clarityfiend (talk) 00:42, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
