What makes a bootleg album notable?[edit]

I've placed several bootleg articles here, and prodded several. There seems to be a consensus on WP that bootlegs are not notable. I define a bootleg as physical album or CD that you can buy in a record store that is not sanctioned by the artist. I feel that articles of broader interest, ie about demos, unreleased albums, or limited release/out of print albums compiled with the participation of the artist or their record label do meet notability requirements and shouldn't necessarily be deleted. These articles should however establish their broader notability and meet WP's quality standards. I hope this category will make it easier to locate such articles in order to either delete them or expand them as appropriate. If I've prodded an album you worked on, I mean no offense, and invite you to contact me to discuss improving the article if appropriate. Also, if this discussion is more relevant elsewhere, please copy my comments there. Cheers, Alcuin 02:53, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
