Original research / synthesis[edit]

Much of this article constitutes original research/synthesis. E.g. while the section "Attacks by Marathas in 18th century" is well-sourced, no source is cited for its portrayal as "Discrimination against Bengalis". By this logic any invasion of Bengal or atrocities that happened during non-Bengali rule (e.g. Delhi Sultanate or British Raj) can be labeled as "discrimination against Bengalis". Same goes for the Freight equalisation policy - the content is sourced (copied from the main article on that topic), but none of the sources portray the negative outcomes as "Discrimination against Bengalis". Sames goes for a lot of other content in the article. utcursch | talk 00:44, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Utcursch I completely agree with this, and I'm going to BOLDly remove that section after carefully reading through it determined that there is ZERO mention of "anti-Bengali sentiment" motivating these 18th century events.
I came here from AfD, and can see that the article is likely notable, but huge SYNTH/OR sections like that one (ESPECIALLY starting the whole article out!) make it difficult to see the value in "keep"ing this page. Thanks for flagging this starting point, I'm going to try to strip the content down to an appropriate and well sourced focus on the title topic (and learn a lot about this topic in the process, lol).
